OCA Internships
The Ohio Cattlemen's Association offers many internships for college students throughout the year. There are typically three positions available during the Winter to help with the Ohio Beef Expo and winter OCA activities. During the summer there are also positions available to help with the state fair and farm science review activities. These positions usually require 10-20 hours per week and are flexible with class or work schedules and other responsibilities. A scholarship will be awarded to each intern and the intern can earn credit while completing the internship. For more information regarding specific internships call the OCA office at 614.873.6736.
OBC/OCA Offers Summer Internship Opportunity The Ohio Beef Council and Ohio Cattlemen’s Association will be offering a summer internship opportunity. The full-time public relations internship will provide the successful candidate with excellent experience in communications and promotions through the coordination of numerous events and activities. The successful candidate will help with the planning, coordination and execution of all displays during the Ohio State Fair; assist with the Young Cattlemen’s Conference and assist with other events and promotions. Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an agricultural related field of study and have demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills. The internship will begin in mid-May and last until mid-August with flexibility based on course schedule.

Winter Internship Opportunities The Ohio Cattlemen's Association and Ohio Beef Council typically offer three internships during the Winter Quarter. Applications for these internships will be accepted in the fall.
Industry Relations Intern
The primary responsibilities of the Industry Relation Intern will include assisting with the preparation and implementation of the OCA Annual Meeting including developing press releases and coordinating correspondence. This intern will assist with communications of the Ohio Beef Expo including pre-event press releases, photography and specifically with the industry trade show. This position will also help with the BEST Leadership Conference and production of the Ohio Cattleman magazine.
Youth Activities Intern
This position will focus on assisting with coordinating the Ohio Beef Expo Junior Show including fundraising and show management. In addition the successful candidate will assist with the Beef Exhibitor Show Total (BEST) sanctioned shows registration as needed and help coordinate the program. This position will also help coordinate the BEST Leadership Conference.
Beef Improvement Intern
The Beef Improvement Intern’s responsibilities will include assisting with the execution of the BEEF 509 program, which focuses on improving the knowledge and information transfer among the beef value chain. This position will also assist at the Ohio Beef Expo with the purebred shows & sales and the Genetic Pathway exhibit. In addition this intern will provide support for the OCA Seedstock Sales.
